The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility. They also support the nursing team by monitoring vital signs, transporting patients, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of patient care experience. A current South Carolina Certified Nurse Assistant registration and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are required.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The C NA performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient.
Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required. At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
