The analyst will recruit patients, collect data, and perform analysis for scientific publications in orthopaedic spine research. Additionally, they will support physicians with grant proposals, IRB documentation, and the assembly of case reports and presentations.
Requires a high school diploma and two years of clerical/paraprofessional experience in data compilation, or a bachelor's degree. Proficiency in Excel is required, with a preference for candidates with previous clinical or basic research experience.
Pay Range
The applicant should have a strong academic record, must be creative, self-driven, reliable, and motivated to learn. An ideal candidate will have been previously involved in clinical or basic research, and demonstrated interest in academic medicine. The position offers the opportunity for education and hands-on learning in the medical field. Proficieny in excel is required. Some experience with data management preferred, although not required.
Research assistants will work closely with Dr. Reitman, Dr. Lawrence, Dr. Ravinsky, Dr. Banagan, and our MUSC Orthopaedic Surgery Residents and medical students.
25% - Recruiting patients and collecting data for research studies. 25%
25% - Completing data analysis and manuscript preparation for scientific publication
15% - Supporting physicians with ongoing studies, projects, videos, papers and presentations
10% - Drafting grant proposals for internal and extramural funding announcements
10% - Gathering patient images, X-rays, as well as operative and clinical notes and videos
10% - Assembling surgeon’s presentations and case reports
5% - Drafting Institutional Review Board documentation for research studies
