Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate Headquarters - Prairie du Sac, WI 53578Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Associate Degree (2 years)Job Category: AccountingPOSITION OVERVIEW: Receive and process all incoming payments. Complete general ledger accounting duties including financial statement analysis, general journal entry preparation, analyzing and maintaining account reconciliations, compliance tax work assistance, and assistance with annual financial audit.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Perform daily remote check deposit including receiving, scanning, and correctly retaining incoming check payments.
Apply customer account payments and credits including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments according to remittances details.
Process customer deductions including discounts, freight, compliance violations, credit/debit memos, zero-dollar payments, and miscellaneous offsets.
Understand and use proper GL account coding when processing transactions.
Ensure AR, cash, and other related registers balance with general ledger daily and at month end.
Enter journal entries to record bank transfers.
Maintain physical AR files daily, weekly, and annually.
Research and understand AR transactions within SAP.\
Collaborate with credit and sales teams to keep customer account balances clean.

Prepare and respond to requests from external auditors and tax preparers.
Cross train in other areas of accounting as needed including covering supervision duties when needed.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in accounting.

One to three years of accounting experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Demonstrated understanding, interpretation, and application of GAAP accounting rules.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including with the board.

Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the organization’s systems and data as well as client data. Understand and comply with the Mueller Quality System and current regulatory requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Demonstrated experience utilizing an ERP. SAP experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 25 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read. The team member frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Position requires frequent typing.
