The operator is responsible for managing horizontal directional drill rigs and locating equipment to install underground telecommunications conduit. They must also lead field teams, perform site maintenance, and ensure all work complies with safety and utility specifications.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a DOT health card, with a Class A CDL preferred. The role requires physical fitness to work in all weather conditions and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

The role of a Horizontal/Directional Drill Operator and Locator includes operating horizontal/directional drill rigs, locating equipment and product support equipment. Perform semi-skilled activities related to HDD locating must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
