The Ward Clerk is responsible for greeting patients and families and organizing admissions and discharges for a 40-bed surgical ward. They also handle telephone calls and communicate with the broader healthcare team using systems like iPM and EMR.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required for this role. Previous ward clerk experience is considered advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

About the Department / Program
Ward 33 is a busy 40 bed ward specialising in Upper Gastro-Intestinal surgery and Gastroenterology, located at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.
About the Role
Join our team as a Ward Clerk on a part-time, ongoing basis. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Nurse Manager, working with the broader nursing team.
Role Requirements:
Greeting patients and families
Organising patient admissions and discharges to ward
Computer systems such as iPM, EMR
Communicating with the broader health care team
Answering telephone calls.
Roster/Hours
Week 1:
1500-2030 Friday
0800-1500 Saturday
Week 2:
1500-2030 Friday
1500-2030 Saturday
1300-2030 Sunday
About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:
Having previous ward clerk experience would be advantageous however, not essential - training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills and organisational skills required
