Based in Berlin-Charlottenburg, we offer a dynamic environment where growth, learning, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.If you are driven by an eagerness to disrupt, have a passion for collaboration, and are excited about shaping the future of mobility, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for a
Group Product Manager (d/f/m) to lead our Consumer Orientation Product organisation at mobile.de — Germany's largest online vehicle marketplace.
This is a
12-month fixed-term role covering parental leave, offering the opportunity to make a real, lasting impact on how millions of consumers experience our platform.
In this role, you will set the vision and strategy for how consumers orient themselves on mobile.de — how they arrive, how they understand their options, how they narrow down their choices, and ultimately how they connect with the right vehicle. You will lead a team of Product Managers and co-lead a cross-functional organisation together with Engineering and Design, owning the consumer experience (web & app) across surfaces like the homepage, landing pages, marketing entry points, and in-product advertising.
Your north star is the consumer: understanding what they need, reducing friction in their journey, and building experiences that earn their trust and return visits. You will report to the Head of Consumer Product.
- 8+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years managing Product Managers in a consumer-facing or platform environment.
- You're both strategic and hands-on. You can set a compelling vision and direction, but also roll up your sleeves, work closely with your team, and turn bold ideas into real, shipped outcomes.
- Consumer-obsessed and outcome-driven. You deeply understand how to build for end users — how they think, what they need at each stage of a consideration journey, and how to remove friction that stands between them and a decision.
- Skilled at consumer orientation and experience design. You think holistically about user journeys, entry points, and trust-building moments — not just individual features.
- Fluent in AI and data. You're comfortable collaborating with ML and Data Science partners, curious about applying AI capabilities to improve consumer products, and motivated to push the frontier of what's possible — including LLM-driven search and agentic experiences.
- Strong analytical capability. You use data and experimentation to guide decisions and prioritisation, and you know how to measure what matters, and are hands-on in self-serve insight generation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, bring people along, and explain complex topics in simple terms.
- Adaptable and resilient in a fast-changing environment — you thrive on ambiguity and see it as an opportunity rather than an obstacle.
- Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, large-scale consumer platforms, or AI-driven products is a strong plus.
- Lead, coach, and grow a group of 3–5 Product Managers and co-lead a cross-functional organisation of ~30 people together with Engineering, Design, and Data Science.
- Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for consumer orientation — covering how users arrive at mobile.de, how they are guided through their car-buying journey, how we communicate value, and how we create moments that build trust and loyalty.
- Own the consumer experience across key surfaces including the homepage, SEO/SEA landing pages, marketing entry points, and in-product advertising — ensuring every touchpoint feels relevant, frictionless, and on-brand.
- Drive measurable outcomes across key metrics including dealer leads, consumer satisfaction (CSAT), engagement, and return visits.
- Build deep consumer understanding through qualitative research, Jobs To Be Done frameworks, experience mapping, and continuous experimentation (A/B testing) — ensuring every product decision is grounded in real user needs and behaviour.
- Champion AI and emerging technologies — from conversational car-buying assistants to agentic use cases — and translate them into tangible consumer value at scale.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and Business stakeholders to develop solutions that solve real consumer problems and support adjacent business goals (e.g. Leasing, Financing, Private Selling).
- Foster alignment and collaboration across teams, ensuring smooth execution and clear communication from team level to senior leadership.
- Represent the consumer voice in cross-functional and strategic discussions, acting as the connective tissue between user needs and business outcomes.
