Human Resources Associate will apply entry level professional work to research, interview and investigate various complaints, claims, charges, job placement and inquiries concerning Human Resources issues; review, develop, administer and communicate programs; maintain a computerized tracking system; prepare summaries, reports and other pertinent documents; work on projects; train/inform employees in Human Resources policies/practices, fair employment laws, insurance/pension benefits or benefit laws/regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Select personnel for part-time/fulltime employment; conduct charge-related conferences and training classes on labor/fair employment law/policies or benefit laws/regulations; make presentations concerning Division carcer opportunities and employment policies. Examine employment records, personnel files, job descriptions, complaints, etc. to compile statistical data/information; prepare write analytical reports on findings and various reports/worksheets, investigation summaries, establish/maintain various documents, files and records as required; work on projects; collect data/information. Consult with management on human resource issues. Assist in counseling employees/retirees concerning benefits and promotional opportunities; inform employees of training required; Perform other duties as directed.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Must have 0-2 years professional-level experience in employee relations and equal employment programs or risk management, depending
upon departmental needs. Must have computer software skills in word processing, presentation and spreadsheets.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Works inside majority of time. Subject to hazards associated with conducting interviews and investigations. Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
