Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics function for Copper and Aluminum transactions, including organizational management, operational governance, risk management, process and system optimization, and people management, including performance evaluation (primary evaluator) and supporting recruitment activities as needed.

This role does not directly perform day-to-day logistics execution but ensures high-quality execution by the logistics team through process design, implementation, guidance, and oversight. However, in cases of temporary workforce shortages—such as team member absence, illness, or increased workload—the Logistics Manager may be required to step in and perform operational logistics tasks as an individual contributor.

In addition, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end workflows from contract conclusion to delivery, this role actively contributes to system enhancements and development initiatives.

The Logistics Manager works closely with Front, Middle, and Back Office functions to ensure efficient operations in full compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.

  • Ensure strict adherence to import/export regulations, trade compliance requirements, and internal policies and procedures
  • Execute and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, including delivery status checks, aging/long-term inventory reviews, inventory reconciliations, and stock inspections, and support financial closing processes

2. Operational Governance and Process Design

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve standardized workflows across logistics operations
  • Analyze, visualize, and identify issues within end-to-end processes from contract conclusion to delivery
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities across Front, Middle, and Back Office
  • Establish control mechanisms (e.g., checkpoints and approval workflows) to prevent operational errors
  • Participate in system enhancement and development initiatives based on a comprehensive understanding of logistics workflows from contract to delivery

3. Logistics Strategy and Optimization

  • Develop logistics strategies aligned with the Division’s business strategy
  • Provide logistics-related input on contract terms, including Incoterms and delivery conditions
  • Evaluate and select warehouses, transportation providers, and freight forwarders based on service quality, cost, and risk considerations
  • Optimize the supply chain, including transport routes, modes, and inventory positioning
  • Reduce logistics and warehousing costs
  • Improve working capital efficiency through reduction of aging and long-term inventory

4. Risk Management and Internal Controls

  • Oversee logistics-related risks, including:
    • Customer and consignment credit exposure as the delivery owner, in coordination with the Middle Office
    • Inventory and warehouse risks, including the arrangement and management of warehouse insurance
    • Operational risks such as documentation discrepancies and delivery delays
  • Strengthen collaboration with Middle Office (credit and risk management) and Back Office (operational execution)
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and support internal and external audits
  • Provide timely reporting and response in the event of issues arising in delivery operations

30%

5. Oversight of Logistics Operations

  • Oversee all logistics activities executed by the team, including:
    • Transportation arrangements (vessel, truck, rail, etc.)
    • Customs clearance
    • Inventory receipt and delivery
    • Shipping documentation management
  • Ensure performance in terms of quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency
  • Provide operational coverage by directly handling logistics tasks when temporary workforce shortages occur due to staffing gaps or increased workload
