The candidate we're seeking is best described as someone who has the following characteristics:
Professional, presentable and confident
Highly organized yet able to adapt to changing needs
Excellent communicator on both a technical and professional level
Works well in a team and independently
Possesses strong customer service abilities
Trustworthy
Physical condition that will allow for moving of benches and other equipment up and down stairs, into cars as well as unpacking and set up
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in a piano technician/tuner role
Driver's license and own car required
Registered Piano Technician Certification (RPT) or Skilled Trade Certificate preferred
Accountabilities:
Follow a tuning and service schedule that is prepared by the service department
Offer standard tunings, pitch raises, voicing, regulation
Repair or replace parts such as broken strings, hammers, action parts, tuning pins, and pedal mechanisms
Offer a quality customer service experience and maintaining a standard of excellence
Manage customer expectations to efficiently retain customers
Have a deep understanding of the product offering and how it is positioned in the marketplace
Participate in paid training programs to improve personal skills
Perform related job duties as required
NOTE: The above job description does not include all of the duties that a piano technician will be asked to perform while on the job. A piano technician will also be asked to perform other duties and handle other responsibilities. In addition, a portion of the all of the above job description may be changed or revised from time to time.
Salary Expectations & Benefits:
Salary range is $65,000 - $80,000.
Merriam Music full-time employees enjoy membership in a co-op benefits package, which offers coverages for dental, medical, and other various benefits.
Schedule and location:
The schedule includes 75% travelling to and working out of client homes and 25% tuning on-site at one of our three locations in Oakville, Vaughan and Toronto. Saturdays are required.
