We're seeking an Orientation Coordinator who thrives on teaching, organizing, and helping people succeed. This role serves as the first impression for many of Mercer’s contractors and plays a critical role in creating a positive, engaging, and compliant onboarding experience.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, confidence presenting to groups, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. You'll coordinate orientation activities, deliver training, support contractor onboarding, and work closely with multiple departments to ensure contractors are prepared for success.
This position is onsite Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate and facilitate Mercer Transportation's contractor orientation program from start to finish
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on training covering company policies, procedures, technology platforms, and contractor resources
- Create a welcoming onboarding experience that promotes contractor engagement, confidence, and long-term success
- Build positive working relationships with contractors and serve as a trusted resource throughout the onboarding process
- Coordinate orientation schedules and training sessions with Safety, Compliance, Permitting, Settlements, Recruiting, and other departments
- Ensure all onboarding documents, compliance requirements, and training records are completed accurately and on time
- Assist contractors with Mercer software systems, mobile applications, and technology tools used in daily operations
- Maintain training materials, contractor packets, classroom resources, and orientation supplies
- Monitor onboarding effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance the contractor experience
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and orientation documentation
- Coordinate procurement and transportation of orientation materials and supplies as needed
- Support contractor retention, engagement, and satisfaction initiatives
- Represent Mercer’s culture, values, and commitment to contractor success during every orientation session

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Previous experience in training, recruiting, customer service, or transportation.
- Experience presenting information to groups or facilitating training sessions
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly
- Experience coordinating projects, schedules, events, or training programs is a plus
