Medavie is seeking a Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to lead and continue building our enterprise-wide risk function across multiple operating companies. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape and mature ERM in a complex, regulated environment.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role will directly influence how risk appetite, governance, and risk insights inform executive decision-making. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board while continuing to evolve a strong, enterprise-wide risk culture.
What You’ll Do
Oversee ERM across multiple operating companies, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization
Partner with senior leadership to embed risk considerations into strategic planning and business decision-making
Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the ERM framework
Own and advance the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance framework, aligning it to strategy
Drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
Deliver risk reporting and forward-looking insights to senior leadership, the SMT, and the Board
Lead GRC strategy, including selection and implementation of tools
Act as a central ERM leader, coordinating with specialized risk functions (e.g., Compliance, Audit, IT Risk) to ensure a cohesive enterprise view of risk
Lead and develop a growing ERM team, fostering a strong risk-aware culture
What You Bring
Current or recent leadership experience within an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function
10+ years of experience in risk, audit, or compliance
Experience operating in a highly regulated environment (e.g., insurance, financial services, healthcare)
Proven leadership experience building and leading ERM programs and teams
Strong experience developing and implementing risk appetite frameworks
Deep understanding of ERM frameworks, governance, and regulatory expectations
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide change
Experience with GRC tools/technology
Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level when needed
FRM, PRM, or similar certifications considered an asset
Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range:
120,335 - 154,717 CAD
The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
