Role
The Card Coordinator is responsible for operational card maintenance and dispute/chargeback processes while ensuring accurate, high-quality service for Members and Team Members. As an ambassador for Mazuma, this role focuses on engagement, active listening, and exceptional service delivery to meet both identified and unidentified card-related needs. This position requires strong knowledge of industry regulations to perform duties independently and minimize errors. The Card Coordinator is part of a collaborative Team dedicated to supporting frontline Teams and Members while maintaining efficient systems and workflows.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Receive and evaluate debit and credit card disputes.
Analyze and determine dispute validity based on regulatory requirements and VISA rules.
Review disputes and support documentation for submission to the card processor.
Ensure compliance with Regulation E and maintain required communication timelines.
Process and manage debit and credit card requests, including: card ordering, blocking, re-issuing, and activating, statement and PIN expertise, and entry of travel notifications in core and card processor software.’
Post detailed entries into General Ledger Accounts.
Reconcile assigned GLs monthly.
Serve as an expert in fraud alert processes and procedures.
Manage notifications for card breaches.
Reconcile reports from core data processor, third-party card processor, and other vendors.
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including: Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills
Required Experience: 1 year experience in a financial institution
Preferred Experience: 1 year customer service or call-center experience
Education

Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, printer, scanner, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Work Environment
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise.
