Position Description: The Forklift Operator / Parts Runner is responsible for safely transporting materials throughout the facility and between company locations using forklifts and the company van. This position supports production by picking up and delivering parts, loading and unloading materials, maintaining accurate documentation, and following all safety requirements.

Requirements

  

Essential Functions.

· Safely operate forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.

· Load and unload trucks without damaging materials.

· Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and materials using the company van.

· Verify shipments and deliveries against work orders and packing slips.

· Deliver materials to the appropriate production departments.

· Perform daily inspections of forklifts and the company vehicle.

· Maintain delivery logs and shipping documentation.

· Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.

· Assist shipping, receiving, and inventory as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:

Experience & Education 

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· One year of forklift experience is preferred.

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

· Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.

· Manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience preferred.

· Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation.

Compliance  

· Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested. 

· Must maintain a valid driver's license and remain insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy

Physical Activities & Working Conditions 

The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative, but not exhaustive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

· Frequently lift-up to 50 pounds.

· Stand and walk for extended periods.

· Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead.

· Work in manufacturing and warehouse environments.

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Manufacturing facility with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

· Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required as appropriate.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with hours based on a production environment, with occasional nights and weekends, depending on the needs of the position and the organization.
