Director of Banquets
Summary: Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all banquet service operations to ensure exceptional member and guest satisfaction. Partners closely with the Culinary, À La Carte, and Catering & Events teams to deliver seamless event execution, uphold the highest service standards, and create an outstanding member and guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages all banquet service, setup/facilities and liquor room staff, providing overall leadership, direction, coordination and evaluation of the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), timecard management software (preferably ADP Workforce Now) and Point of Service systems (preferably JONAS).
