Job Summary:
The Regulatory Budget and Reporting team is responsible for developing and submitting the regulatory filings that support the organization’s annual budget, ensuring compliance, clarity, and alignment with PREB requirements. They transform financial and operational information into actionable analysis that strengthens regulatory strategy and decision‑making. They work closely with Finance, business units, and our legal consultants to prepare filings, budget amendments, and reallocations, effectively communicating the rationale and benefits of each request to the Energy Bureau. They also manage Regulatory’s internal budget, analyze variances, oversee contract management, and ensure accurate billing and payment processing for our consultants. In addition, they support other Regulatory teams by providing guidance on budget matters and related regulatory requirements.
This position supports the team by translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform regulatory strategy and compliance. It monitors regulatory changes, prepares reports and filings, and collaborates across teams and with external partners to meet evolving requirements.
Job Description:
Drafts regulatory filings, communications, deposition papers, and requests for information by conducting initial analysis and aligning with prior submissions, ensuring consistency and legal compliance.
Manages internal reporting by gathering departmental input, maintaining a reporting schedule, and communicating deadlines to ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions.
Analyzes legal and regulatory developments to assess potential business impacts and provide guidance on emerging risks and compliance strategies.
Monitors and analyzes key performance metrics to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and support data-driven decision-making.
Provides analytical insights to support cross-functional collaboration, strategic initiatives, operational planning, and reporting.
Communicates regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and maintain accountability for timely completion and deliverables.
Follow established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.
Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.
Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Education
Bachelor's Degree preferable in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field, from an accredited university
Experience
3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and synthesizing complex economic, regulatory, and financial information, preferably within an electric utility or a related industry.
Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role: Associate’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 3 years of experience performing a previous Analyst role.
