What's the Role: 

We're seeking a trade qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic. It is an exciting opportunity to join our industry leading transportation company and play a key role in assisting hundreds of Australian businesses to meet their transport needs. 

Lindsay Transport is Australia’s largest fresh produce transporter, delivering temperature-sensitive freight to major markets and grocery distribution centers. Based from our Derrimut Workshop you will have the opportunity to work on state of the art equipment and some of the best products the industry has to offer!

Trade Extras:

• Permanent role, Monday to Friday - dayshift
• Additional overtime hours and shifts available, paid at overtime rates

What You’ll Do:

• Reliability is the cornerstone in transport, you will be an essential part ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest level:
• Vehicle maintenance and repair – repairing, replacing and diagnosing issues across a variety of fleet vehicles (prime movers, rigids and trailers)
• Perform major repairs including midlife’s and brake/bearing overhauls and servicing
• Demonstrating safe work practices, leading by example and promoting a safe work culture
• Accurately completing maintenance and repair documentation.

What You'll Bring:

• Mechanical Trade qualification
• Proven competence in repairs and overhauls
• Experience working on prime movers or heavy vehicle trailers is highly valued
• Effective diagnostic skills on Kenworth, DAF, Cummins, BPW
• Basic computer skills
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Motivated, reliable and a good work ethic
