About the role
We are looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, stability and usability of Letterboxd’s products.
This role is best suited to someone with strong manual testing experience who enjoys thinking deeply about product quality, spotting risks early and helping teams make confident release decisions. You will work closely with Engineering to test new features, enhancements and fixes, while advocating for a great user experience and helping maintain a high bar for quality across the product.
This is an important role for someone who brings strong judgement, a sharp eye for detail and a practical, collaborative approach to testing.
What you’ll do
- Plan and execute manual testing for new features, enhancements and bug fixes
- Create clear test plans and document test cases to support consistency and repeatability
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory and acceptance testing primarily across web and mobile products
- Verify fixes and confirm issues have been resolved as expected
- Make sure testing reflects real user behaviour, usage patterns and edge cases
- Assess release readiness, identify quality risks and support informed decision-making around releases
- Support the release process by validating changes as they move through environments
- Investigate, reproduce and document bugs clearly so developers can resolve them efficiently
- Work closely with the wider engineering team to support quality across web and mobile platforms
- Share QA insights and contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices
- Support project planning, debriefs and knowledge sharing across the team
About you
You are someone who takes pride in finding issues before users do, thinks carefully about how products behave in the real world, and enjoys helping teams release with confidence.
You’ll likely bring:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in a QA or software testing role, with a strong focus on manual testing
- Experience testing both web and mobile applications
- Strong capability across functional, regression, exploratory and acceptance testing
- Confidence writing test plans, documenting test cases and reproducing bugs clearly
- A strong sense of ownership for quality and release confidence
- Good judgement and the ability to balance quality, risk and delivery timelines
- High attention to detail, with a practical and delivery-focused mindset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Analytical test thinking, including the ability to explore edge cases and unexpected behaviours
- Solid technical understanding of how web and mobile applications work and how systems interact
Tools and technologies you’ll use
- TestFlight
- Play Store testing distribution

You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be comfortable working in a modern product engineering environment and keen to keep building your QA capability.
