Responsibilities

The engineer will take ownership of turbine aerodynamics, including design, CFD analysis, and testing support. Responsibilities include optimizing blade geometry and evaluating hot-section performance to meet aero and structural targets.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in turbine aerodynamics. Proficiency in 3D CFD (CFX), CAD software (NX), and a strong foundation in turbomachinery physics is essential.

Full job description

We're Hiring: Turbine & Hot Gas Path Aero Engineer

Full time | Core team

LAT Aerospace | Gas Turbine Engines

At LAT Aerospace, we’re building India’s first clean-sheet hybrid-electric STOL aircraft and a

next-generation family of gas-turbine engines. We are looking for an engineer who can take

ownership of turbine aerodynamics: covering design, CFD, testing support, and hot-section

performance.

What you’ll do

  • Design, test, and evaluate- Aerodynamic design and analysis of turbine components.

  • Mean-Line & Quasi-3D Aerodesign – Use mean-line, through-flow, and blade-to-blade tools to generate first-cut turbine designs.

  • High-Fidelity CFD Analysis – Build and execute high-fidelity 3D CFD simulations to assess turbine performance.

  • Blade Geometry Optimisation – Perform blade shape optimisation to meet aero and structural targets.

  • Hot-Section Interpretation – Understand how combustor exit conditions, pattern factor, and temperature non-uniformity influence turbine life, stresses, and performance.

What we're looking for

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with focus on turbomachinery, aerodynamics, or thermal sciences

  • 3+ years of experience in turbine aerodynamics or hot-gas-path work

  • Strong understanding of turbomachinery aerodynamics, loss modelling, and flow physics.

  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CFD (CFX) for turbomachinery flow analysis and performance evaluation.

  • Strong capability in mean-line/throughflow/2D blade analyses

  • Experience in blade shape optimization

  • Solid foundation in heat transfer , compressible-flow physics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

  • Proficient in using CAD software (NX or equivalent).

Why LAT?

  • Core team opportunity at a high-conviction deep-tech startup

  • Build India’s next-generation GTEs - the kind that India has never seen before

  • Work in an environment where hardware development moves fast, ownership is high, and engineering matters

Imagine a world where flying is as easy as taking a bus – where air travel isn't reserved for major cities, but reaches everyone, everywhere. No congested hubs, no security lines, no hours lost in transit. Just seamless, affordable, on-demand flights connecting thousands of destinations the world has overlooked for too long. We're building the future of mass aviation: a network of high-frequency, low-cost, 8-seater STOL (short take-off and landing) aircraft that make every city, town, and community accessible. Our aircraft take off and land from compact "air-stops" no bigger than a parking lot – no baggage belts, no bottlenecks, none of the expensive airport infrastructure that regional travel was never meant to need. But easy flight is the outcome of hard engineering – and that engineering doesn't stop at the airframe. The engine that powers it, the autonomy that flies it, the systems that defend it are all the same problem. So we're building three capabilities India should own itself: Aircraft: an 8-seater hybrid-electric STOL aircraft, designed ground-up for efficiency and built for affordability. Propulsion: world-class gas turbine engines developed in-house, laying the foundations of a true aerospace ecosystem. Defence: sovereign autonomy and defence systems that perceive, decide, and act in the real world. Aerodynamics from first principles. Propulsion built in-house. Autonomy from day one. This isn't the supersonic fantasy you've been sold. It's the aviation our communities actually need.
