The shift engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems to ensure factory reliability and minimize downtime. They are responsible for following safety protocols, managing documentation, and overseeing emergency situations during their shift.
Candidates must hold a recognized engineering qualification such as City & Guilds or HNC equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of maintenance engineering experience within an automated manufacturing environment is required.

£50,000 per annum
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Reactive Maintenance Manager (RMM)
The objective of the department is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, ensuring tasks are carried out swiftly, adhere to safety policies, conform with required specifications to overall achieve the factory’s reliability KPI to reduce unplanned downtime.
The shift engineer reports to the reactive maintenance manager and co-operates with colleagues on 4 shift system plus day shift colleagues. The shift engineer frequently works outside of office hours and will be expected to work independently using own initiative. Outside normal day working hours the shift managers cover nominal LM duties.
