Assistant Project Coordinator – Kitchen Remodeling
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Business Hours)
Work Location: In person
About the Position
Kitchen Tune-Up Brooklyn North is seeking an energetic, dependable, and highly organized Assistant Project Coordinator to support our growing kitchen remodeling operations.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role that bridges office administration, project tracking, vendor coordination, and physical material management. You will split your time between maintaining organized computer records, creating polished presentations, keeping clients informed, and physically unboxing and inspecting high-end cabinet deliveries.
This is an exceptional entry-to-mid-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn the custom kitchen remodeling business from the ground up and build a career in project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
-
Receiving, Inspection & Inventory (Physical Requirement)
- Unload, unbox, and carefully inspect incoming cabinet orders, custom doors, hardware, and accessories for damage, flaws, or missing items.
- Cross-reference shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and project specs with high precision.
- Photograph and document any shipping damage immediately to file vendor claims and order rush replacements.
- Label, organize, and stage materials in our staging area so field installation crews have everything ready for install day.
- Keep the inventory and staging spaces clean, safe, and organized.
-
Project & Administrative Support
- Assist the Project Coordinator with day-to-day oversight of active remodeling schedules.
- Input order data, track lead times, and keep client profiles up to date in our database/CRM.
- Build and update project checklists, client update documents, and visual Microsoft PowerPoint slide decks.
- Maintain spotless electronic and physical project folders to ensure zero details fall through the cracks.
-
Client, Vendor & Team Coordination
- Serve as a professional, friendly touchpoint for clients, providing clear, proactive status updates.
- Communicate directly with suppliers and vendors to confirm ship dates and track backorders.
- Collaborate with sales reps and lead installers to verify materials are on-site prior to job start dates.
- Answer incoming calls and triage customer or trade partner inquiries efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint (for slide decks and presentation materials), along with Excel, Word, email, and CRM/database entry.
-
Physical Capability: Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and maneuver cabinet boxes and materials weighing 40–50 lbs. Comfort working in both an office environment and a light staging/warehouse area.
-
Detail Orientation: Obsessive attention to detail—missed flaws or wrong cabinet sizes cost time and money.
-
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with clients, vendors, and job-site crews.
-
Background: Prior experience in office administration, customer service, receiving/inventory, or construction/home improvement is a plus, but a strong work ethic and desire to learn are paramount.
-
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
