Purpose: The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.
Essential Duties include the following
Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service
Working alone must be capable of performing electrical work
Determine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solution
Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks
Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling
Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs
Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards
Communicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule
Contact customers to set appointments
Strive at all times to meet budget
Be on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 3 months
Properly maintain company vehicle
Develop and retain client base
Maintain daily logs and project tasking
Communicate and reinforce and goals
Perform additional assignments as assigned
Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required
QualificationsQualifications/Requirements
Wiring systems and all phases of project installation
Electrical control work and troubleshooting
Purchasing of electrical material and parts
Experience in commercial, industrial and manufacturing environments
Meeting and exceeding customer expectations and needs
Assertive and proactive
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Journeyman Electrician License
At least 4 years of experience as Service Tech
Physical Requirements
Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
Able to get to customer job sites
Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
