IT Applications SME – Oracle Product Development (PD / PLM Cloud)

Location: Bengaluru, India

Organization: Information Technology – IT Solutions Delivery

Reports to: Senior Manager, IT Solutions Delivery

Role Purpose / Mission

The IT Applications SME – Oracle Product Development (PD / PLM Cloud) is responsible for the functional ownership and day‑to‑day management of Oracle Fusion Cloud Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), including Product Development (PD) and Product Hub / Product Information Management (PIM, formerly PDH).

The role focuses on solution design within a defined scope, product data governance, functional configuration, and integrations, working in close partnership with area Global Process Owners (GPOs), the PLM team, and IT delivery & Support teams. It also supports Itron’s Oracle Cloud modernization, including Oracle Redwood UX adoption.

The role also covers selected external tools integrated with Oracle PD / PLM (e.g. CMAP).

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Product Development / PLM Cloud

• Act as IT SME and functional owner for Oracle Product Development (PD) and Product Hub / PIM.
• Design and govern functional solutions within a defined scope.
• Lead scoped end‑to‑end activities: requirements, fit‑gap analysis, configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), deployment, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
• Ensure robust integration between Oracle PD / PLM, Oracle EBS, and downstream systems.
• Support product data governance, including items, attributes, BOMs, lifecycle states, and formal change management processes such as change requests and engineering change orders (ECO/ECN), in line with global standards.
• Act as a functional escalation point providing analysis and guidance to IT Operations team for complex issues when required.

External Tools (e.g. CMAP)

• Provide IT functional ownership for external tools supporting Product Development.
• Coordinate integrations, vendors, and upgrades for these tools.
• Ensure alignment with Oracle PD / PLM usage and standards.

Cloud Transformation & Redwood UX

• Contribute to Oracle Cloud continuous improvement within the PD / PLM scope.
• Support Oracle Redwood UX adoption, including impact assessment and personalization.
• Stay current with Oracle quarterly releases, assess functional impact, and demo relevant new features to GPOs and business stakeholders.

Governance & Collaboration

• Work closely with IT Solutions Delivery, Support, Integration, Architecture, and Security teams.
• Ensure changes follow Itron governance, documentation, and release processes.

Soft Skills & Ways of Working

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into pragmatic functional solutions.
• Comfortable leading scoped initiatives as an individual contributor.
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple topics in parallel.
• Effective collaborator in global, cross‑functional environments.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in Oracle Product Development, PLM, or Oracle SCM Cloud roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle PD and/or Product Data Hub (PIM).
• Solid understanding of item master, product structures, attributes, BOMs, lifecycle management, and engineering change workflows (ECO/ECN).
• Experience in Cloud SaaS implementations
• Strong functional analysis and communication skills.

Nice to Have / Preferred

• Experience with other Oracle Fusion cloud modules applications, especially
• Exposure to Oracle Redwood UX migration or personalization.
• Experience with Oracle Visual Builder (VBCS) for UI extensions or Cloud personalization is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle EBS + Oracle Fusion Cloud hybrid landscapes.
• Basic functional understanding of REST-based integrations and middleware platforms (e.g., Workato).
• Certification in Oracle Fusion cloud.
