Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative K–8th Grade Art Teacher to join our Bronzeville campus. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging visual arts instruction that fosters creativity, self-expression, and cultural awareness among students.

Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Learning
Develop and implement a standards-based art curriculum aligned with grade-level expectations
Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that support creativity, skill development, and artistic expression
Provide instruction across a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and mixed media
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Provide individualized feedback to support student growth and artistic development
Classroom Environment & Student Support
Create a structured, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
Foster student confidence, creativity, and appreciation for the arts
Support students’ social-emotional development through artistic exploration
Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and organization
School Culture & Community Engagement
Organize and facilitate student art showcases, exhibitions, and events
Build relationships with students and families to support student engagement
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative school culture
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to support school-wide initiatives
Participate in professional development and staff meetings
Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
Perform additional duties as assigned to support school and organizational needs

QualificationsRequired
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple art mediums
Preferred
Master's degree in Education or related field
Professional Educator License (PEL)
Experience teaching art at the elementary or middle school level
Experience working in urban education or culturally responsive educational settings
