Title of Course
Compensation
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Duties
The nominal workload for this position is 120 hours. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement, may include but are not limited to attending assigned seminars, labs or tutorials on a weekly basis; Attending TA meetings as scheduled; Preparation of seminar materials; Proctoring and grading assignments, tests and examinations in a timely manner, and providing supportive and instructive written feedback; Holding office hours and answering student emails outside of scheduled student contact time; Maintaining accurate records; Helping students overcome difficulties that they may encounter when dealing with course material; Other related duties as assigned by the Instructor.
Qualifications
1. Must have completed PSYC 5F01 with a grade of at least 90. 2. Must have high level of competence conducting statistical analyses using SPSS and R (RStudio). 3. Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics; 4. Must have strong writing and editing skills, and a thorough understanding of APA writing style; 5. Must have excellent oral communication skills; 6. Must have the interpersonal qualities to be supportive of students and effective in leading group discussion; 7. Must have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data; 8. Must have excellent time management skills in order to cover the required course material during the available seminar/lab or tutorial time; 9. Must be adept at providing feedback to students in a constructive manner

For courses taken elsewhere, provide a transcript (a copy of your course outline and grade summary from your student self-serve at that institution is sufficient); highlight the course and provide the course description. Failure to provide the required documentation to support the request for consideration of equivalency will result in an incomplete application.
