An exciting opportunity exists for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our highly experienced team as we launch a brand-new PET and Nuclear Medicine service at St Stephen's Hospital, Hervey Bay.
This is a rare chance to help establish and grow a cutting-edge service that will deliver a new level of care to patients across the Wide Bay region. Working across our sites at St Stephen's Hospital (Hervey Bay) and The Friendlies Hospital (Bundaberg), you'll have access to state-of-the-art technology, ongoing professional development, and the support of an experienced and collaborative team.

Be part of the foundation team establishing a brand-new PET and Nuclear Medicine department and help shape the future of diagnostic imaging in the Wide Bay region.
Operate state-of-the-art Siemens digital PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine equipment in a modern clinical environment.
Join a team of three senior technologists, each with more than 20 years of local and international experience. You'll also work alongside students participating in the RMIT Embedded Student Program, fostering a culture of learning and development.
Gain exposure to a comprehensive range of Nuclear Medicine and PET services with opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth.
· No weekend work
· 7.6-hour shifts
· Flexible start times from 7:00am
· Finish times typically between 3:00pm and 6:00pm

About the Role
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Performing general Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures
· Preparation and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with manufacturer and TGA standards
· IV cannulation and administration of prescribed radiopharmaceuticals
· Ensuring high standards of patient care and safety
· Collaborating closely with radiologists, referrers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
· Contributing to the development and success of a newly established PET/Nuclear Medicine service
Essential Requirements
· Current AHPRA registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
· Qualification and accreditation in Diagnostic CT
· Strong commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
