Primary Responsibilities
Under general supervision the technician will prepare outer cylinder surfaces for proper corrosion inspection prior to hydrostatic retest and ultimate reapplication of paint, if applicable, by removal of paint or oxidation using non-abrasive grit blasting equipment. The technician will reapply paint to cylinders if required by CMM.
Responsibilities
• Reads and interprets information, manuals, or other materials to determine procedures and tools required for the servicing of assemblies
• Exercises proper techniques pertaining to paint removal.
• Mixes paint
• Applies paint to cylinders
• Maintenance of blasting equipment, cleaning of paint gun
• Uses hammer and steel stamps to impart hydrostatic retest date to appropriate cylinder surface.
• Carries out duties in accordance to QCM/RSM written procedures
• Complete documents and forms in accordance to procedures applicable to work tasks
• Maintains working area in an organized and neat condition
• Observes and follow all safety rules and policies
• Maintains an acceptable level of productivity as determined by department requirements
QualificationsRequirements
High school Diploma/GED
Proficient PC use
Ability to see details at close range
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Experience with Document Control
Must be able to carry out duties with detail and thoroughness
1+ year of experience working in a shop environment
Ability to read ,write & understand English , basic math skills, moderate physical strength, an eye for detail.
Ability to read interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals
Must be trained on all elements of 49 CFR sections related to cylinders and testing thereof and DOT Special Permit Cylinders
Must be trained on the use of CGA Pamphlets (Compressed Gas Assoc.) that identify inspection criteria for various cylinder types.
Physical Requirements
Required to frequently stand, bend, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling and walking
The employee will intermittently sit
Frequently use hands to handle, grasp, squeeze or feel; reach with hands and arms
Must see in the normal visual range of the unit with or without correction
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Continuously bend, twist, and kneel
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with assistance
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
