The Opportunity: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Hand to join our Grow Out team based on the pristine shorefront of Albany’s Emu Point.

You will be involved in all aspects of rock oyster grow out operations including:

• Operate farm vessels and vehicles as required.
• Support compliance management including water sampling and environmental monitoring.
• Follow the direction of the work plan as specified in daily toolbox meetings.
• Collecting and recording of data.
• Collect, grade, pack, load, unload, move and deploy shellfish across on-water farm areas as required.
• Assist with sorting and pack out of harvest stock.
• General maintenance duties.
• Operating mechanical equipment such as, but not limited to, grading machines, bagging machines, folk lift, tractor, pressure cleaning equipment and hydraulic equipment
• Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to.

Please note that this position is permanent so not suitable for people on short term /working holiday visas

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Class C Driver’s licence.
• Progressive and positive attitude.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
• Motivation and be hard-working, willing to positively contribute to the Harvest Road culture.
• Strong work ethic and enjoy being part of a close-knit and passionate team.
• Be a self-starter, and confident working independently.
• Willingness to fill in across all operational requirements when required.
• Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical examination and criminal record check. 
• Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks.
