Job Summary

The Unsupervised LPA delivers autonomous psychological services, including comprehensive clinical assessments, standardized testing, and therapeutic interventions. Operating under full independent licensure, the professional maintains absolute clinical and ethical responsibility for patient care, diagnostic reporting, and treatment planning without requiring cosignatories or supervisory oversight

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical evaluations: Administer and interpret specialized intelligence, personality, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental assessment instruments.
• Formulate clinical diagnoses: Utilize DSM-5-TR criteria to independently diagnose mental health, emotional, and substance use disorders.
• Provide evidence-based therapy: Deliver individual, group, or family psychotherapy and behavioral interventions to clinical populations.
• Author diagnostic reports: Write detailed, legally defensible psychological evaluation reports for medical, educational, or legal entities.
• Supervise ancillary staff: Oversee unlicensed personnel, such as behavioral analysts, who implement specific treatment plans under the LPA's direction.
• Manage treatment plans: Develop, monitor, and adjust clinical interventions based on objective data tracking and patient progress

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Education: Master’s or specialist degree in psychology from an accredited institution with at least 45 semester credit hours.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) credential with approved Independent Practice Status from the North Carolina Psychology Board.
• Experience: Minimum of 4,000 post-licensure supervised practice hours accumulated over 24 to 60 consecutive months.
• Ratings: Documentation of average or above-average performance evaluations across all 4,000 foundational supervision hours.
• Credentials: Health Services Provider Psychological Associate (HSP-PA) certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Advanced testing proficiency: Mastery in administering standard batteries like the WAIS, WISC, MMPI, and autism-specific diagnostics like the ADOS-2.
• Ethical autonomy: Deep knowledge of the North Carolina Psychology Practice Act and APA ethical guidelines.
• Clinical boundaries: Ability to recognize cases outside personal competency and seamlessly coordinate referrals to medical or optometric specialists.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with individuals in the ID/DD community

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: Minimum of $65,000.00
