Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Your Impact 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Distribution Operations, the Warehouse Associate supports the day-to-day operations of Habitat for Humanity Canada’s National Distribution Centre through shipping, receiving, inventory management, ecommerce support, and customer service to local Habitats and ReStores across the federation. As a valued member of the team, you will help advance Habitat for Humanity Canada’s mission of increasing affordable housing opportunities for families across Canada.

  • Support the Senior Manager, Distribution Operations with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading/loading trucks and checking in donations
  • Sort and organize incoming donations on skids, shelves, or in designated storage areas according to organizational standards
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular physical counts and data entry into inventory systems
  • Assist in maintaining an organized warehouse environment for incoming and outgoing products
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support Habitat Canada’s ecommerce platform (Shopify) by uploading products, updating inventory, and assisting with order management
  • Prepare orders by processing requests, pulling products, packing skids, labeling shipments, and staging orders for pickup or delivery
  • Assist affiliates with product information and questions related to ordering and shipping procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to ReStore staff, volunteers, and partners visiting the Distribution Centre
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and volunteers to maintain a positive and productive work environment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment at all times
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including wearing appropriate safety equipment
  • Act as the Distribution Centre's Health & Safety Representative, participating in safety meetings, workplace inspections, and promoting compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
  • Support and assist with supervising co-op students and volunteers, and report any concerns as required

Qualifications & Competencies

  • One to three years’ relevant work experience in a related role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills will be required
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs with help of others
  • Valid forklift license an asset
  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 10-50 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on occasion, with another team member.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional forklift operation.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions, including potentially dusty environments, and outdoors when required.
  • Safety shoes are required, and the individual must be able to adapt to varying weather conditions as the warehouse doors are opened and closed.


Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $42,000 - $44,000.
