The Product Design Architect will leverage 3D CAD software to develop and maintain industrial design intent from concept through to mass production. They will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready Class-A surfaces.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years of experience in consumer product design. Proficiency in 3D surfacing tools like NX or Alias and a portfolio demonstrating shipped consumer products are required.
The Product Design Architect team is part of Google's Hardware Design organization, and our core mission is to support the industrial design team's goal by developing ideas into products. We shape the future by designing consumer devices that harness the power of Google to delight and inspire millions of people worldwide.
Our Product Design Architect team uses a deeply-considered approach to craft beautiful, production-ready Class-A surfaces with an extremely high bar for quality, aesthetics, and mathematical precision. Beyond delivering these user-visible surfaces, we also partner cross-functionally to investigate mechanical/component architectures and develop innovative design concepts for appearance models, visualizations and functional prototypes.
As a Product Design Architect, you’ll use 3D CAD software to capture and maintain industrial design intent from concept to production. You have an understanding across a broad range of manufacturing processes and leverage cross-functional collaboration to meet requirements across engineering, UX, reliability and cost.
In this role, you will be passionate about pushing 3D CAD to the highest level, sweating the details to bring beautiful designs into mass production.
