The Medical Assistant supports urgent care providers by managing patient check-ins, recording vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. They are also responsible for collecting blood samples, performing point-of-care testing, and maintaining medical supplies.
A high school diploma is required, and a Medical Assisting program graduate is preferred. Candidates must have BLS certification at hire and obtain a recognized MA certification within 15 months of employment.

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Manages the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. Draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
