We’re looking for an experienced, relationship-focused professional to serve as a key resource for our sales partners and their high-volume customers. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys building relationships, finding creative solutions, negotiating competitive pricing, and managing the many details that go into delivering an exceptional customer experience.
You’ll work directly with sales partners and customers while collaborating with suppliers and teams across Geiger to support sales opportunities from initial product research and pricing through order completion.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with assigned sales partners and their customers.
- Identify the needs of sales partners and customers and provide proactive support to help them meet and exceed their sales goals.
- Research products and negotiate with suppliers to provide highly competitive pricing, particularly for competitive opportunities and situations outside established preferred-supplier pricing.
- Obtain quotes and coordinate PSA and specification samples with preferred suppliers.
- Bring creative product and selling ideas to sales partners and stay current on industry trends, products, and selling strategies.
- Manage orders from entry through completion, including following up on order status, claims, issues, and commission accuracy.
- Prepare and enter orders in Geiger’s online order entry system.
- Serve as a resource to sales partners and customers on Geiger processes, programs, and available solutions.
- Coordinate custom orders with Vendor Relations, Product Safety, and other corporate teams as needed.
- Develop a working knowledge of billing and receivables processes to help ensure accurate order processing and accommodate special customer requirements.
- Monitor sample expenses and effectively manage available business development funds.
- Partner with creative and support teams on customer projects and sales opportunities.
- Seek Regional Sales VP approval as needed for special commission splits and low-margin agreements.
- Maintain regular communication with your manager regarding special requests, customer needs, and opportunities for additional support.
- Prioritize and manage daily workflow to ensure service expectations and business goals are consistently met.
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, and messages, providing helpful answers, guidance, and follow-through.
- Participate in supplier webinars, meetings, and industry events to stay current on industry trends and selling opportunities.
- Support sales and marketing efforts for potential Global accounts, which may include product selection, RFP support, PowerPoint presentations, mock websites, and face-to-face customer sales meetings.
- Participate in occasional customer visits, trade shows, and field visits with sales partners.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- At least two years of progressively responsible customer service or sales experience.
- Experience supporting large or high-volume accounts in a customer service or sales capacity.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining close attention to detail.
- Sound judgment and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong math, writing, presentation, and general business skills typically associated with a two-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong promotional products industry and product knowledge.
- MAS (Master Advertising Specialist) certification.
What Success Looks Like
You’re someone who builds trust quickly and takes ownership of the details. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities, finding solutions when a request falls outside the ordinary process, and bringing together the right people and resources to get things done.
You understand that supporting successful sales partners goes well beyond processing orders. It means anticipating needs, finding creative and competitive solutions, communicating clearly, solving problems, and providing the kind of responsive support that helps both our sales partners and their customers succeed.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities and may require occasional travel for customer visits, trade shows, industry events, and field visits with sales partners.
