Responsibilities
The Project Environmental Manager will develop and implement environmental procedures to ensure project compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation. They will also identify and mitigate environmental risks on-site while advising the construction team on best practices to minimize adverse effects.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field along with a BC CAB (R.P. Bio.) certification. A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance within the construction industry is required.

Overview
Are you passionate about environmental stewardship? As the Project Environmental Manager, you will develop, implement and monitor project site environmental conditions to comply with environmental agency regulations and mitigate potential environmental liabilities.
Working closely with site project teams, you will provide input on appropriate design and construction methods and ensure our projects and subcontractors are compliant with regulatory requirements and legislation.
This position is site based in Campbell River, BC.
What you will be doing
Develops, implements and monitors environmental procedures for the project; Implements and trains project work crews and management team regarding potential environmental issues and procedures.
Identifies documents and resolves project site environmental risks or discrepancies during daily site walks. Documents findings, evaluations and inspections using Company prescribed procedures and software.
Advises project management on proper interpretation and implementation of environmental regulations and specifications.
Documents, analyzes and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
Advises construction team on environmental hazards and procedures to minimize adverse environmental effects.
Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
Performs impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the project’s environmental risks and financial costs.
Coordinates external consultants, as needed.
Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
Support published corporate policies.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field and BC CAB (R.P. Bio.) certification required.
10+ years environmental regulatory and compliance experience in the construction industry required.
Comprehensive knowledge of Provincial and Federal Environmental Acts and Regulations
Knowledge of construction environmental mitigation and monitoring measures.
Demonstrated ability to write environmental work plans, procedures, manuals, standard operating procedures, and other related material as required.
Effective communication skills, data organization and technical reporting skills.
Proficiency with computer programs for managing and communicating environmental data.
Valid BC driver’s license.
