This position is for our Extendicare Eaux Claires Home, located in Edmonton, Alberta.
What you’ll be doing
Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.
Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.
Ensure use of proper food handling techniques
Maintains a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all work areas meet sanitation and safety standards.
What you bring
2-3 years' minimum experience as a Cook
Current Food Handler`s Certificate
Must have experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or retirement setting
Must be knowledgeable of the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift
Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
