About the role

The EXOVATIONS of Atlanta, LLC (EXO)’s Carpenter position plays a vital role in the installation of decks, porches, windows, and doors. Carpenters are valued members of a team to provide the best customer experience possible. Carpenters are provided opportunities to learn and grow within a four-tiered process, and are expected to be team players and self-motivated.

Qualifications

• CARPENTER II (C2) - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES
• Performs all essential duties, abilities and Key Result Areas required of C1
• Understands scope of work
• Possesses ability to define correct door swings
• Uses all EVO power/pneumatic tools proficiently
• Helps to keep C1 employees productive
• Understands and utilizes proper layout for structural members
• Finishes concrete properly
• Sets up and operates ladders in a safe manner
• Frames knee walls and roofs
• Understands use of speed square

CARPENTER III (C3) - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES

• Performs all essential duties and Key Result Areas required of C2
• Able to work alone on part of project without supervision
• Knows what step is next on the project without being told what to do next
• Knows all products and materials; and how to properly install per manufacturer used by EXO
• Able to properly install rafter, joist, beams and bands
• Able to properly square up any structure
• Able to direct work of C1 and C2 employees
• Assists LC in daily paperwork logging
• Assembles stairs
• Able to install all door hardware
• Able to trim windows and doors

PREREQUISITE EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPENTENCIES:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years related experience in the construction industry
• Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Displays a positive, upbeat attitude
• Dependable, reliable, and has a strong work ethic
• Current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• All physical requirements are performed for the duration of an 8–10-hour shift.
• Wears personnel protective equipment as required; safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, safety harness to be used above 4 ft and regular ladder and tool checks
• Physical and mental ability to operate company vehicles and associated equipment
• Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outdoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulders, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity
• Ability to climb ladders for extended periods of time
• Ability to carry heavy objects
• Ability to lift 100 pounds regularly
• Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strength
• Ability to work in all climate conditions
• Ability to be exposed to loud noise levels
• Ability to use power tools and pneumatic tools, as well as hand tools: 
• skill saws, miter saws, nail guns, Sawzall, general carpentry tools.
• Ability to work in an environment containing dirt, grease, and dust
• Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Ability to effectively interact with others internally and externally
• Ability to work with many different personalities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Correctable vision and hearing
