Job Summary
Responsible to the Director of Budget and Financial Planning for all administrative, budgetary, and financial oversight for all the organizations under the President’s Office, and the Divisions of Advancement and Student Life and Enrollment; Responsible for ensuring compliance with university, Tennessee Higher Education Committee (THEC), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), state and federal policies and procedures; Serves as a member of the President’s Office, Advancement and the Student Life & Enrollment senior leadership teams; directs and oversees all three units activities related to budgeting and financial management operations, programs and personnel administration; coordinating state and grant budgets, providing analysis and annual report of departmental performance and expenditures and assisting units staff in establishing policies and procedures for the unit practices. Serves as a liaison between the President’s Office, Advancement, Student Life and Enrollment, and Business and Finance divisions
Knowledge of strategic planning.
Knowledge of the operations of the President’s Office and direct units under management.
Knowledge of university, TBR/THEC policies, procedures, and processes.
Skills in fiscal management.
Knowledge of accounting principles.
Knowledge of human resources management practices.
Knowledge of the division of Student Life and Enrollment.
Knowledge of the division of University Advancement.
Knowledge of technology related to budgetary management, reporting, and presentation.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, faculty, staff, and administration; and work within teams.
Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administration, personnel management, or fiscal management.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree.
Experience in higher education.
Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment.
