The assembler performs complex wiring, assembly, and sub-assembly of control equipment based on engineering specifications. They are also responsible for testing the electrical and mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
Candidates must have a mechanical or electrical background and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and the flexibility to work overtime on weekdays and weekends.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of the job is to perform winding, assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and to produce complete sub-assemblies, and final assembly of control equipment. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Works from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment.
B. Determines necessary parts and material, and prepares requisition to obtain parts and material from stock.
C. Prepares wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals.
D. Route out, assembles, wires, adjusts, fits and modifies parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly.
E. May require lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement.
F. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards, and makes necessary adjustments and alignment when required.
G. Executes engineering and customer changes and makes repairs as required.
H. Reports irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach.
I. Maintains records as required.
J. Observes all safety and hygiene rules and regulations.
K. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
L. Other assignments as required.
M. Operator of power tools, including battery powered and compressed air.
