Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Join a Team That Builds Southwest Florida
Continental Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Equipment Division. If you take pride in diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment, enjoy solving problems in the field, and want to work for a company that values safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship, we'd like to meet you.
Our mechanics play a critical role in keeping our operations moving by maintaining and repairing the equipment that builds infrastructure, utilities, marine projects, and mining operations throughout Southwest Florida.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment in the field.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on a variety of equipment.
  • Repair hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, brake, steering, and undercarriage systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns at active job sites.
  • Complete inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic service tools when applicable.
  • Document repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
  • Maintain service truck inventory and ensure tools and equipment remain organized.
  • Communicate repair status with Equipment Management and field operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
  • Strong hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and drivetrain troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience reading service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
