Position Summary
Duggal Visual Solutions, a premier leader in the large-format graphics and visual solutions industry, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Large Format Cutter Operator.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a founding production team helping establish Duggal's newest manufacturing facility in Coatesville, PA.
We are seeking an experienced Large Format Cutter Operator to operate and maintain the Kongsberg and Zund cutting systems. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality graphics while supporting efficient production workflows in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with printing processes and graphics finishing is a plus.
1st Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm (Overtime as needed)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Review production schedules, job tickets, and work instructions to confirm specifications, priorities, and requirements prior to production.
Operate large-format cutting equipment, including the Kongsberg and Zund platforms as well as vinyl and manual cutters.
Set up and execute cut jobs by loading media, verifying files, performing quality checks, and monitoring cut quality throughout production.
Handle a variety of materials including flexible roll media, and rigid substrates commonly used in signage and display graphics.
Monitor and log equipment performance and production throughput to meet quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Troubleshoot cutting-related issues such as cut inconsistencies, rough edges, sizing errors, registration issues, and material handling concerns.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, tool care, and basic equipment troubleshooting while maintaining maintenance records.
Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and printing teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Prepare, inspect, and stage printed graphics for downstream finishing operations, including assembly, packing, and kitting.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe production environment in accordance with company standards.
Adhere to all safety policies, equipment operating procedures, and quality control requirements.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production objectives
Knowledge and Abilities
Hands-on experience operating large-format cutting equipment in both flatbed and roll-to-roll production environments.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment while meeting deadlines.
Strong understanding of cut quality standards and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of common signage substrates and media used in large-format graphics production.
Familiarity with cutting software, manual and rip generated file preparation, and workflow requirements for digital cutting systems.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot cutting equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
Basic computer proficiency and the ability to accurately read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production documentation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and follow production instructions.
Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) to effectively communicate job requirements, safety procedures, and production information.
3–5 years of large format cutting experience required
Experience with Kongsberg or Zund cutters is strongly preferred.
Experience operating both flatbed and roll-to-roll equipment required
Experience in a commercial printing, signage, or graphics production environment preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required, trade school or college is a plus.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with MS and Google Suite
OSHA 10-Hour certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
Physical and Environmental considerations
Standing and Mobility: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while monitoring production operations, inspecting output, and moving throughout the production area.
Material Handling: Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, including printed media, substrates, and production supplies.
Manual Dexterity: Requires frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment, perform quality inspections, make machine adjustments, and reach or stretch as needed throughout the workday.
Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive motions such as loading materials, operating controls, handling finished products, and making routine machine adjustments while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
Safety Awareness: Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and use required PPE.
Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a production setting with varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment-generated heat while maintaining focus and productivity.
Compensation:
The base compensation range for this full-time position is $22 - $26 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location.
