NC Programmer
N/C Programmer job functions include creating N/C programs for various 3 & 5-axis machines in Ducommun’s machine shop. Programs are developed from customer engineering drawings/models per our internal procedures to machine various part configurations needed to support our customers. The programmer also develops CAD models and drawings to assist manufacturing personnel and creates tool designs for internally fabricated tooling.

Job Summary
Create N/C programs from customer-furnished data sets, blue prints, or sketches
Build needed 3D geometries for N/C tool paths
Support N/C machine operators
Create set up books, N/C instructions for NC machining
Support inspection and manufacturing department when required
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees
Required Skills and Qualifications
Formal Catia training required with Catia experience a must
Unigraphics training and experience a plus
Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including the ability to articulate complex ideas in a simple manner
Ability to effectively communicate among all levels within the organization
Required Experience and Education
Experience with N/C machining, machine codes, cutting tools, feed and speed
Minimum 5 years experience in N/C Programming in the aerospace industry with strong 3 & 5 Axis background
