Position Description

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for, but not limited to, receiving freight. May assist with checking in company delivery drivers. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, mission and policies of Doll Distributing LLC; State of Iowa laws and regulations governing the beer industry; and brewery/supplier requirements

Essential Functions

Promptly direct, receive, and unload freight from over the road drivers upon arrival
Using warehouse systems, record inventory to ensure deliveries match invoices
Communicate with over the road drivers regarding deliveries and schedule
Record and manage damaged product via Budnet prior to loading damaged product
Ensure all products are properly stacked and rotated in warehouse
Ensure accuracy while performing all warehouse duties
Must know and comply with Anheuser-Busch and other suppliers product freshness and rotation policies
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret all product code dates
Compliance with all company and equipment safety regulations
Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal/external customer
Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner
Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Any other work as assigned

Non Essential Functions

Maintain cleanliness of warehouse work areas
Stock pick lines and Tyguard line as necessary
Assist customers, Account Managers, and Drivers with pick-ups or inquiries

QualificationsEssential Skills and Knowledge

Basic computer skills; Outlook email experience or ability to learn
Basic mathematical aptitude skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions.
Ability to obtain certification in forklift and pallet jack operations.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers.

Qualifications

18 years of age or older
High School or GED (General Education Diploma) required
Previous warehouse experience preferred, but not required

Working Conditions

Temperature/Climate

This position will spend 90% of the shift in a climate-controlled environment and 10% of the shift in an outdoor environment

Safety Considerations

This position will routinely drive forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other cleaning equipment
This position will occasionally drive a semi-tractor trailer which ranges from 36ft to 60ft

Personal Protective Equipment necessary

Steel-toed boots/shoes with skid-proof soles may be required

Physical/Mental Organizational Capabilities

The individual in this role must possess the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, and climb stairs on a frequent basis. Must have the ability to safely lift a minimum of 24 lbs. without assistance, waist level, waist to should level, shoulder level to overhead. Must have ability to push/pull/lift a maximum of 165 lbs. with appropriate equipment. The ability to pay attention to detail, problem solve, troubleshoot, and make decisions is required.

On December 23, 1966, Merlin and Edith purchased Michaels Distributing of Council Bluffs, Iowa, inventorying 2,179 Budweiser cases, 152 Budweiser kegs, and nine (9) Michelob kegs. Doll Distributing, Inc. sold about 40,000 cases of Anheuser Busch and 12,000 cases of Grain Belt, along with servicing twenty-four (24) tap accounts using three (3) trucks and a van. Merlin developed a new beverage trailer in 1973. This trailer was designed to be pulled by a one-ton pickup. At the time most beer was being delivered in straight trucks. On April 21, 1988, Doll Distributing, Inc. took over the Red Oak territory. This expanded Doll Distributing, Inc. to eleven (11) counties from its original three (3) counties. On December 14, 2006, Doll Distributing LLC combined the operations of the original Doll Distributing, Inc. and Fred Nesbit Distributing Company in Des Moines, Iowa. Today, Doll Distributing LLC serves approximately 2,500 customers in Southwest and Central Iowa. Doll Distributing LLC added the Grinnell location in 2007, the Spencer location in 2010, and the Worthington, MN location in 2015.
