PRODUCT OWNER – PHYSICAL PRODUCTS & SOCIAL MEDIA
WOW – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Full-Time
About the Role
WOW is looking for a hands-on Product Owner to build and grow a new physical consumer product from idea to finished product.
The first project is Hangar 28, a premium paper-aircraft brand built around 28 collectible planes delivered over one year.
Customers will start with a premium six-plane kit and receive new aircraft over time until they complete the full 28-plane collection.
This is not a normal product-management job.
We need someone who enjoys making real products.
You will work directly with the planes, paper, printing, packaging, suppliers, videos and social-media content.
You will have support from our design, creative and business teams, but you will be the person responsible for moving the product forward.
What You Will Do
Design and Develop the Planes
You will help create each Hangar 28 aircraft from concept to final product.
You will:
- Design and improve paper-aircraft models.
- Personally build and fold prototypes.
- Fly and test the planes.
- Test different designs until the plane performs well.
- Create planes for different purposes such as speed, distance, glide and tricks.
- Make sure each plane is different and interesting.
- Make sure customers can build the plane easily.
- Test the plane with other people before approving it.
- Record how each plane should be built, tuned and flown.
A plane is only finished when it looks good, is easy to make and flies well.
Choose and Test the Paper
The paper is one of the most important parts of the product.
You will:
- Test different paper types.
- Choose the correct paper weight and thickness.
- Test stiffness and flexibility.
- Test how well the paper folds.
- Make sure the paper holds a strong crease.
- Test how printing affects the paper.
- Make sure the paper does not crack or tear easily.
- Test the finished printed paper by building and flying the actual plane.
Different planes may use different paper because each plane has a different flight purpose.
Work With Printers and Suppliers
You will help find and manage companies that can make the product in Vietnam and other suitable locations.
You will:
- Find printing companies.
- Find paper suppliers.
- Find packaging companies.
- Request samples and pricing.
- Compare suppliers.
- Visit suppliers when useful.
- Review factory samples.
- Approve the paper and printing.
- Check colors, cutting, fold lines and print quality.
- Help solve production problems.
- Make sure suppliers follow the approved product specifications.
- Help keep the product cost within budget.
You will work closely with suppliers instead of simply sending them files and hoping the product comes back correctly.
Build the Complete Hangar 28 Kit
You will help create the full customer experience.
The starter kit may include:
- Six different aircraft designs.
- Extra aircraft sheets so customers can build the planes more than once.
- Premium paper.
- Collector cards.
- Folding instructions.
- Pilot handbook.
- Flight challenges.
- Stickers or achievement items.
- Aircraft storage.
- QR links to videos.
- Premium packaging.
We also want useful tools and accessories that make the kit feel complete.
Examples may include:
- Precision ruler.
- Folding or crease tool.
- Flight tuning guide.
- Distance measuring tool.
- Other simple tools that help customers build and fly better planes.
The package should feel premium as soon as the customer opens it.
It should not feel like someone put several sheets of paper inside a normal box.
Quality Control
You will help make sure customers receive a high-quality product.
You will:
- Check production samples.
- Compare production against the approved sample.
- Check paper quality.
- Check printing quality.
- Check cutting and alignment.
- Make sure all parts of the kit are included.
- Build planes using actual production sheets.
- Fly production samples to make sure they still work correctly.
- Report quality problems.
- Work with suppliers to fix problems before products are shipped.
Make DIY Videos
Every aircraft will have clear video instructions.
You will help create:
- Full step-by-step folding videos.
- Short folding videos.
- Throwing instructions.
- Tuning videos.
- Troubleshooting videos.
You should be comfortable working in front of or behind a camera.
The important thing is that customers can watch the video and successfully build the plane.
Film the Planes Flying
We want Hangar 28 to look exciting.
You will help find good places to fly and film the aircraft.
This may include:
- Parks.
- Beaches.
- Large indoor areas.
- Open fields.
- Interesting buildings or aviation locations.
- Other safe locations that create strong video.
You will:
- Fly the planes.
- Film successful flights.
- Show distance and glide performance.
- Film tricks and challenges.
- Capture slow-motion footage.
- Help create content that proves the product really works.
TikTok and Facebook
You will also help build the Hangar 28 social-media presence.
You will:
- Create and manage the official TikTok account.
- Create and manage the official Facebook page.
- Post approved content.
- Post videos created by our creative team.
- Post your own product and flight content.
- Publish new-plane reveals.
- Publish DIY videos.
- Publish flight challenges.
- Publish behind-the-scenes product development.
- Answer useful product questions from customers.
- Track which videos perform best.
- Share what you learn with the creative and product teams.
You do not need to personally create every piece of creative.
WOW has a creative team that can help with editing, graphics and marketing.
Your job is to make sure the product is shown correctly and that good content is regularly published.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who likes to make things.
You may come from:
- Product design.
- Industrial design.
- Packaging.
- Printing.
- Paper engineering.
- Origami.
- Model making.
- Toys or games.
- DIY products.
- Consumer products.
- Video content.
- Social media.
A university degree is less important than your ability to show us things you have actually made.
You should be:
- Hands-on.
- Creative.
- Practical.
- Organized.
- Comfortable testing and improving things.
- Comfortable working with suppliers.
- Comfortable using basic design tools.
- Comfortable filming products.
- Able to communicate clearly in English.
- Willing to learn.
What Success Looks Like
You will help us turn Hangar 28 from an idea into a real premium consumer brand.
Over time, we should be able to see:
- Great planes.
- Great paper.
- Great printing.
- Great packaging.
- Clear instructions.
- Useful accessories.
- Strong videos.
- Consistent social-media content.
- Reliable production.
- Happy customers building and flying the planes.
The simplest way to describe the role is:
Help us design it, build it, fly it, prove it, manufacture it, package it and show it to the world.
