Position Summary
The Architectural CAD Drafter produces accurate existing conditions drawings using point cloud data, 360-degree images, and HD photos. This role transforms field survey data into professional AutoCAD and Revit deliverables including floor plans, elevations, RCPs, site plans, and building reports for nationwide retail, banking, and commercial clients.
Essential Functions
Draft architectural drawings from point cloud scans, 360 images, and HD photos in AutoCAD/Revit
Produce complete drawing sets including floor plans, RCPs, roof plans, elevations, and site plans
Draft MEP elements, fixtures, furniture, equipment, and specialty components per project scope
Complete BIR Reports, ADA Checklists, and other documentation requirements
Conduct self-QA on all work before submission; address redlines promptly
Follow Designers Edge drafting standards for layering, annotation, and presentation
Track time accurately by project and task code in Justworks
Communicate with Project Manager or Job Captain regarding questions, issues, and completion status
Develop and improve blocks, components, and templates to increase efficiency
Meet production targets for quality, efficiency, throughput, and volume
Participate in peer QA reviews when assigned
Identify opportunities to improve drafting processes and share ideas
Required Competencies
Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit proficiency strongly preferred
Strong architectural drafting skills with attention to detail
Understanding of commercial architecture, building components, and construction methodology
Knowledge of ADA guidelines and accessibility requirements
Ability to interpret point cloud data and 360 imagery accurately
Strong time management and ability to work under deadline pressure
Self-motivated with commitment to quality and continuous improvement
Effective communication skills for coordination with team
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Architecture or CAD Certificate required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred
2+ years of architectural drafting experience preferred
