The Hardware Design Engineer that will be responsible for the design and development of various embedded systems, including both hardware and some firmware design. The engineer will have a detailed knowledge of the product functional specification, will conduct design reviews, and resolve product design issues. The candidate should have minimum 2-5 years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing/reviewing project work plans
Generate functional specifications based on product requirements
Generate design specifications
Resolve issues found during the product development cycle
Participate in design reviews
To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:
Embedded hardware and software design
Working understanding of CAN and LIN vehicle networks
Knowledge of embedded RTOS and / or Embedded Linux systems
Experience with embedded systems debugging (JTAG/UART/Oscilloscopes/Logic Analyzers)
Experience with electronics CAD systems (Altium experience a plus)
PCB design of complex multi-layer circuit boards
Github experience required
Familiarity with CAN analysis software
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Friendly and flexible team player
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
2+ years of experience in embedded hardware and/or software design
2+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience
This position is located in our Farmington Hills, MI office, this is not a remote or hybrid position. No relocation assistant provided.
