Position Title:  Seasonal Inventory & Shipping Clerk

Reports to: Inventory Operations Manager

Department: Distribution Center

Classification: Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Pay: $20.25 - $21.00 an hour

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring effective communication and streamlined processes to support daily operations within the distribution center. This position is based in a warehouse office environment and is a seasonal opportunity. Our fresh pack season runs from mid-July through late September. During this period, flexibility to work any shift and up to six days per week is required.
 

This position will be primarily responsible for:

  • Completing a full floor count of all inventories packed on the previous day, reconciling with Manager and investigating any variance and making corrections as needed.
  • Getting primary releases from the QA Lab so that we are able to begin moving the inventory while the lab completes the final evaluation of the previous days pack.
  • Creating an inventory control sheet for the pack put away leader man at the plant to identify codes, production lines, locations and quantities of inventory that can currently be moved to the warehouse and stored locations once delivered.
  • Determining the total quantity that will need to be stored, the locations that inventory will be stored in based upon current available storage, current product to be stored and the anticipated quantity to be packed that will be stored tomorrow with approval from Quality Assurance team.
  • Eliminating wasted space while accurately maintaining identifying codes or production line numbers.
  • Assisting in scanning pallets prior to being put away.
  • Assisting in tagging pallets that are identified by the Quality Assurance department for specialized designations, including: New York, Canada, priority of shipment, etc.
  • Identifying inventory that has been recouped and released in SFP Warehouse and determine where the original lots were stored.
  • Establishing inventory relocated by creating a stock relocation sheet for the stock relocation team to utilize on the weekend. 
  • Assisting with filing in the inventory control office when time permits.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one or more years of experience in data entry.  
  • Demonstrated ability of attention to detail and follow procedure.
  • Verbal and interpersonal communication skills both in conversation and writing.
  • Proficiency in basic math and grammar skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year in a Manufacturing environment.
  • At least one year in a similar role. 

Physical Requirements:

Rare lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; rare stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or less sitting, 25% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under rare temperature variations and in a distribution environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is required.
