Position: Part-Time Van Driver

Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Program Overview

Our program provides a safe, nurturing, and enriching after-school environment for the youth in our community. We focus on academic support, social emotional learning, and fun, engaging activities that promote positive development.

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety oriented Van Driver to provide daily transportation for students in our after-school program. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safe and timely pickup of students from their schools and their transport to our program facility. The ideal candidate will be a cautious driver with a strong sense of responsibility and genuine care for the wellbeing of children.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a program van to transport students from local schools to the after-school program facility.
Adhere to all scheduled pickup and drop-off times.
Ensure all students are wearing seatbelts and follow all safety protocols before and during transport.
Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment inside the vehicle.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (e.g., checking fuel, tires, lights, and cleanliness).
Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle maintenance issues to management immediately.
Interact with students, school staff, and parents in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintain accurate transportation logs and records.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

Must be 25 years of age or older.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
Excellent defensive driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
Punctual, reliable, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
Patience and a positive attitude when working with children.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience driving a passenger van or large vehicle.
Previous experience working with or around school-aged children.
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Compensation & Benefits
