What you will do:
The Sales Manager of the Groups and Events (G&E) team is responsible for selling Cineplex Entertainment venues, group event experiences, and related products throughout their designated territory as event venues while supporting event logistics with the client and venue operations teams.
The Sales Manager is also responsible for identifying, prospecting, securing, and growing new accounts and helping clients reach their event goals. In addition, the Sales Manager works closely with theatre and venue operations to ensure proper event execution as well as various business units within the Cineplex ecosystem.
You must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. The role requires flexibility to support business demands, including attendance at trade shows, networking events, client meetings, site visits, and larger client events, which may occasionally occur outside regular business hours, including evenings or weekends.
This is a hybrid position with three days in office or Cineplex venues in your territory. Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with clients and operations teams to ensure exceptional execution of events from inception to post-event follow-up
Build, maintain, and grow relationships with prospects and clients across the region to support new business, repeat bookings, referrals, and account growth
Generate new business through proactive territory management, targeted prospecting, cold outreach, networking, client site visits, open houses, and attendance at relevant industry and community events
Develop and maintain a territory prospecting plan that identifies priority industries, organizations, decision-makers, and event opportunities
Manage a self-generated sales pipeline from first outreach through proposal, contract, event handoff, and post-event follow-up
Negotiate and prepare proposals, contracts, event profiles, and invoices through CRM, while maintaining accurate records of outbound activity, pipeline status, and account history
Maintain strong working relationships with the film department, operations, finance, marketing, and other internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education required
Minimum 5 years of B2B sales and service experience, including demonstrated success in outbound prospecting, new-business development, or territory sales
Previous hotel, theatre, convention, hospitality, entertainment, or unique venue sales experience is an asset
Strong negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills
Strong understanding of the market, industry trends, local business community, and potential client segments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident cold outreach, professional presentations, and relationship-building with new prospects
Proven ability to manage a high volume of outbound activity, multiple opportunities, competing priorities, and tight event timelines with strong organization, attention to detail, and time management
Self-motivated, resilient, and driven to deliver on new-business, activity, pipeline, and revenue targets
Demonstrated ability to independently research prospects, identify decision-makers, and develop targeted outreach strategies
Advanced working knowledge of LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, and MS365 programs such as Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Power BI
Background in event logistics is preferred, such as coordinating setup and managing workback schedules
