Role
Deliver professional hairstyling services in collaboration with the production team to meet production requirements.
Key Tasks:
Design, prepare and execute a full range of hairstyles and haircuts based on project specifications, taking into account the era, style, shoot format and artistic vision.
Adapt hairstyles to suit specific conditions, including role requirements, performers’ natural hair characteristics, wardrobe and lighting setups.
Co-ordinate hairstyles with costumes to meet production requirements.
Fit, style and apply wigs, hairpieces, beards, moustaches and sideburns in line with the era, style and overall creative direction.
Provide touch-ups, adjustments and restyling during rehearsals, tapings and other performances.
Care for and maintain hairpieces, wigs and accessories, keeping accurate inventory records and reporting on item condition.
Inspect hairpieces, wigs and accessories for damage, assess repair needs, submit estimates for approval and oversee repair work.
Perform touch-ups as needed during rehearsals, tapings and other performances.
Monitor inventory levels for hair products and accessories, placing reorders according to established procedures to prevent shortages during production.
Maintain visual continuity across scenes using reference photos and continuity logs.
Research and test new hair products, evaluating performance and reporting findings.
Prepare and submit cost estimates for hair products as required.
Attend planning or production meetings upon request.
Purchase necessary hair products as delegated.
Report any damaged or defective equipment, accessories or products to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Complete the appropriate forms and documents; share information verbally or in writing to ensure proper followup and to keep others informed.
Familiarize other employees with their duties and work environment.
Carry out, as needed, all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group, as well as other related duties.
This is an on call role and it requires a full-time on-site presence.
Job Requirements:
Education: Vocational diploma in hairstyling or equivalent credential.
Experience: Two (2) years’ experience required to perform duties satisfactorily.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
