Acts as a patient advocate and assists registered nurses with direct care and activities of daily living. Ensures a safe therapeutic environment through monitoring and facilitating group interactions for patients with complex behavioral needs.
Requires C.N.A. certification for external candidates or completion within six months for internal candidates. A bachelor's degree in social sciences is preferred, along with experience working with mentally ill or developmentally delayed clients.

Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
Candidate must have excellent written skills.
Excellent communication skills.
External candidates: must have C.N.A certification.
Internal MHW candidates: must have or complete C.N.A. certification within 6 months of accepting position.
Schedule: 20/40 Part Time Days - Every Other Weekend

This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled.
