The Medical Lab Scientist performs routine analytical tests on biological specimens to provide physicians with accurate clinical results. They are also responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control, and upholding strict patient safety protocols.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field such as Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program. Additionally, a nationally recognized certification like ASCP is required or must be in progress.

The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing the routine test on blood, tissues, and other body specimens, as well as providing physicians with quality results using a variety of clinical laboratory equipment. The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) must have a total understanding of patient safety and laboratory techniques necessary to guarantee complete patient safety and anonymity.
MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
